Optics - Dispersion Curve

Solution:

Phase velocity: vp = ω/k
Group velocity: vg = /dk

In the range k₁ < k< k₂:
vp → positive quantity
vg → negative quantity (negative slope)
vp and vg are in opposite directions.

Special Relativity - Index of Refraction
